Philippines Poultry Show & ILDEX Philippines 2024

Manila, 28 August 2024 – The much-anticipated Philippines Poultry Show & ILDEX Philippines 2024 officially opened today at the SMX Convention Center Manila, marking a significant milestone in the livestock and poultry industry. The event commenced with a traditional prayer and the national anthem, bringing together key industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to celebrate the vibrant and growing sector in the Philippines.

The opening ceremony, held at the main stage, witnessed a warm welcome by Mr. Jose Gerardo Feliciano, Exhibit Chairman of the Philippine Poultry Show 2024. In his speech, Mr. Feliciano emphasized the importance of the poultry industry to the nation’s economy and food security, highlighting the event as a vital platform for knowledge exchange and business networking.

Mr. Jeroen van Hooff, CEO of Royal Jaarbeurs, delivered the welcome message for ILDEX Philippines 2024. “ILDEX Philippines is a cornerstone event in the VIV worldwide calendar, essential for advancing the livestock business both in Asia and globally. With the livestock market expected to grow by 5.6% globally and 7.3% in Asia over the next five years, the Philippines’ strategic location and growing economy position it as a key player in the regional livestock industry. This trade fair serves as a perfect platform to connect producers with buyers and foster sustainable growth, leveraging our extensive VIV worldwide network.” – He said.

Atty. Elias Jose M. Inciong, Chairman of the United Broiler Raisers Association, introduced the first keynote speaker, Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. of the Department of Agriculture. Secretary Laurel delivered a compelling message of support, highlighting the government’s commitment to strengthening the poultry and livestock sector, addressing challenges, and fostering sustainable growth.

The active participation of Thai companies highlights our mission to strengthen economic ties between Thailand and the Philippines, promoting mutual growth. The second keynote speaker, Senator Cynthia Villar, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food, was introduced by Mr. Gregorio A. San Diego Jr., Over-all Chairman of the Philippine Poultry Show 2024. Senator Villar’s address focused on legislative efforts to boost the industry’s competitiveness, enhance local production, and ensure the welfare of farmers and producers.

The opening ceremony concluded with a symbolic ribbon-cutting and a group photo, signifying the official launch of the exhibition. Distinguished guests, including industry leaders and government officials, were then guided on a VIP tour of the exhibition hall, exploring the latest innovations, products, and services on display.

The second edition of the Philippines Poultry Show & ILDEX Philippines, 2024 will span across four halls, covering a total of 6,000 square meters of exhibiting space—an impressive 30% increase from the previous edition. This expansion reflects the growing trust and confidence that global and local businesses have in the Philippine market, solidifying its status as a key hub for the livestock and aquaculture industries in Asia.

The event will feature over 200 brands, including 100+ international brands such as Alltech (USA), Aviagen (USA), Boehringer Ingelheim (Germany), Big Dutchman (Germany), and CP Foods (Thailand). These industry giants will showcase their latest products, technologies, and innovations that are shaping the future of poultry and livestock production. Local brands are equally well-represented, with 100+ exhibitors, including top names like UNAHCO, Pilmico, Bounty, and Pure Bio Science.
